I thought my car was broken down this morning. After I started the engine this morning, it was not moving. I made sure I had released my hand brake, re-engaged my gear. It was still not moving. I stepped on the accelarator, it started to move forward but it was like the hand brake is not released.
After driving for a short distance, I start to hear a squeaking sound. I decided to park my car aside. After driving into the parking lot, I felt that the dragging feeling had gone.
I called up the Mazda service center. A service man came down. He told me it was the second case in a day. It might be due to the heavy down pour yesterday nite. I suspected the rust in the brake drum may had caused it. The service man invited me to test drive the car again. Strangely, everything seems to be back to normal. He said the stuck brake had been released. Nothing needed to be repair.
