Lift Upgrading

The lift at my block has been turned on. Quite impressed with it. I remembered the construction work started late for our block compared to the other blocks. However it was turned on at almost the same time as the rest. In other words, we endure lesser inconvenience.

Finally had the chance to experience the thrill of the battlestar Galactica. I took the more challenging Cyclon (blue) ride as the queue was significantly shorter (I still need to wait for 30 minutes). I was seated at the rightmost seat in last row. It is the fastest ride that have taken so far. The accelerated take off was a little scary. After that, it is the thrill of the high speed and wild spin.

I am proud that I have tried it. May be I will not be fit enough few years down the road.

New Gadgets

Went to Sitex to get a Powershot 495 and a Camcoder Legria FS306. The best thing is I am given a LG DVD player free. It is a very basic player. Mei Fan is so delighted since she can now watch her favorite DVDs in our master bedroom.

The main reason to get a new camcoder is because I had enough from the DV tape based camcoder. The videos captured and played back appear to be pixelated (banding). I considered myself lucky enough to have all the (almost all) the videos converted into raw AVI format stored in backup DVDs.

The concern I have with the Digital Camcoder is the video quality. I checked the file format saved in the SD card, I could not figure out what format it is. But after transferring the videos out using the File Transfer Utility provided, they are in .mpg format. Will this be as good as my raw AVI videos ?

The sore throat has been with me since Wednesday. I have completed the course of antibiotic given by the company doctor. And there is still no sign of recovery. Need to see the doctor again tonite.

Update : The doctor said it is due to the bad haze, poor air quality.
