Mei Fan and I attended a 2 day "Presentation Alive" offsite training in Midlink Plaza. Since it is near to Sim Lim Square, we went there to buy a WTR54GS travel router after the course today.
The router does exactly the same thing as its counterpart WRT54G except that it has only 1 LAN port. It also can be used as a router or a switch. However, the main drawback is that it does not support AP client mode, same as WRT54G with Linksys stock firmware. Apparently WTR54GS is not a Linux based device, there is no 3rd part firmware support.
However, it has a feature that allow users to connect to "Open Access Network". I was thinking this is my home WIFI network without security enabled. After trying to connect for a few times and some readings on the internet, they are different.
The device gets really hot after some time.
